Mite Away Quick Strips (MAQS) Receive Federal Registration |

On February 4, 2011, NOD Apiary Products officially received federal registration of Mite Away Quick Strips (MAQS) by the EPA, obtaining a Section 3 registration. MAQS are a formic acid gel strip product used to control varroa mites. The treatment period is 7 days and can be used during the honey flow at temperatures up to 93 degrees F. According to NOD, the strips achieve up to 95% mite kill. Mite Away Quick Strips will be gradually available over the next few months as pesticide registrations are obtained in each state.
