MS Assistantship in Pollinator Ecology at the University of Hawaii Mānoa

Funding is available for an Entomology M.S. Research Assistantship in the Plant and Environmental Protection Sciences Department at the University of Hawaii Mānoa (Honolulu, Hawaii) beginning in Summer of 2019.
Research will focus on the effects of pollen nutrition and management strategies on honey bee health in Hawaii, with significant opportunities for interisland travel. Projects will involve both field and laboratory experimental components.

Interested applicants should send the following information to Dr. Chrissy Mogren (cmogren@hawaii.edu): CV, cover letter, GRE scores, and contact information for three references. All materials must be received for consideration. Please indicate in your cover letter when you would be available to start, if selected.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. in entomology, biology, or a related field
  • Basic skills in laboratory work
  • Basic skills and knowledge in computers and software (e.g. Microsoft Office, statistical software)
  • Previous experience with honey bees is desirable, but not required
