The Honey Bee Health Coalition and The Almond Board of California have both released new Best Management Practices (BMPs) this January. The Honey Bee Health Coalition's new BMPs are extensive, current, and created for beekeepers. You can download them here, or visit the Honey Bee Health Coalition's Tools and Resources webpages. Other new resource from the HBHC are the Varroa management decision tool, and the updated interactive Varroa Best Management Practices We encourage you to utilize the The Honey Bee Health Coalition website and explore all of the work they have done to support honey bees and beekeepers. The Almond Board of California is a long-time supporter of beekeepers and honey bee health. They worked with PAm to create their original BMPs for almond growers, and this year they have expanded and updated their BMPs for almond growers. You can download them here, or visit the Almond Board of California's Pollination webpages. Other useful resources you can find here include a Pollination Directory of beekeepers and bee brokers, information about the Beewhere Program which offers an easy option for beekeepers to register their hives in California and comply with state requirements, information on forage and crop protection practices, and more. These resources have been built for the benefit of beekeepers and growers, and help us all work together to ensure healthy bees, pollination security, and sustainable agricultural practices.
